FIRE RISK – Let’s stay vigilant! 🔥
Due to the persistent drought and the high temperatures of recent days, the risk of fire has increased significantly across our area, whether in forests, grasslands or their surroundings.
The Province of Namur has therefore issued a police order temporarily restricting certain activities until 19 July inclusive.
𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭: 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬
In particular, it is prohibited to:
🔥 light any fire outdoors in forests, grasslands, scrubland, embankments and gardens;
🔥 use wood or charcoal barbecues on public property;
🔥 light fires in forest areas, including in designated fire areas;
🔥 light campfires as part of youth camps;
🔥 release sky lanterns;
🔥 set off fireworks.
💡 Did you know? 90% of forest fires are caused by human activity. We all have a role to play!
Barbecues, cigarette butts, campfires, lanterns… even a single spark can be enough to start a fire. Let’s be extra careful in our daily actions to help protect our beautiful natural environment. 🌿
