Agnès Bogaert exhibition

The Agnès Bogaert exhibition will be held at the Beauraing Tourist Office from 12 to 24 April 2024. The artist’s works will be on display every day from 8.30am to 12pm and from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is free.

Born in Brussels in 1955, Agnès Bogaert has been painting since a very early age. She began her secondary education in Schaerbeek in the decorative arts section. She later obtained a diploma in illustration from the Académie des Beaux-arts de Bruxelles, in the graphics and image section.

Her penchant for nature and architecture drew her irresistibly towards naive art. Her work radiates joie de vivre, to say the least. Through her gouache paintings, she lets us discover what she perceives in her dreams, giving us an ideal, harmonious and somewhat idyllic vision of the world around us.

Agnès Bogaert is a perfectionist at heart.

The accuracy and freshness of her colours are a perpetual feast for the eyes. Her attention to detail is a testament to her perfect mastery of her art. Whether in her luminous spring landscapes of the banks of the Semois, the birthplace of her childhood, or in her reproductions of “art nouveau” urban facades, we will appreciate the meticulousness with which she paves her pavements, builds her bricks or composes her verdant countryside.

All her work is warm and spontaneous, and immerses us in a veritable hymn to beauty. Over the years, Agnès Bogaert has asserted herself in her art. The proof is in her more recent works, which are more balanced, infinitely more structured and colourful than when she started out.
