DESCRIPTION:\nThe Maria Asiain exhibition will be on show at the Beauraing Tourist Office from February 28 to March 12 2025. The works of this painter will be on display every day from 8.30am to 12pm and from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is free.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOver Maria Asiain..\n\n\n\nBorn in Madrid, the daughter of a father who was a cabinetmaker, for many years I remembered the different scents of varnish used to make furniture by hand. Later, however, a small painter’s case, carefully kept and containing various bottles of varnish and turpentine, didn’t make me decide to follow my passion: painting.\n\n\n\n2005 was the decisive year when I enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Watermael-Boitsfort and obtained my certificate of qualification in May 2012.\n\n\n\nSince 2010, I’ve been working in the studio of painter and sculptor Victoria Calleja, whose constant motivation to stimulate my desire to paint has given me a sense of commitment to painting. In parallel, in 2014, I spent 1 year with the late painter Max Morton in Schaerbeek, where I discovered other techniques, in particular the use of pigments.\n\n\n\nIn 2017-2020, enrolled at the Dinant academy, several techniques such as lithography, screen printing, engraving, sculpture, drawing, oil painting and the use of pigments, etc… were an artistic discovery.\n\n\n\nMy inspirations are diverse and depend on my mood. However, nature, landscapes and Spain and its folklore are close to my heart.\n\n\n\nMy techniques are also very varied, from abstract to figurative.\n\n\n\nExhibitions :\n\n\n\n\nIn 2014 at the WABO cultural centre in Watermael-Boitsfort\n\n\n\nIn 2016 in Namur, at the S’Pace gallery\n\n\n\nIn 2023 in Namur, at the S’Pace gallery\n\n\n\nIn 2024 in Beauraing, tourist centre\n\n\n\nIn 2025 in Nismes, at the cultural centre\n\n\n\n\nBetween 2017 and 2020, joint exhibitions with other artists in Dinant.\n\n\n\nCome and discover the colourful world of Maria Asiain!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor many years now, the Beauraing Tourist Office has been inviting artists from the region to exhibit their work on its premises.
